1. What can I claim for?
At The Legal Consultancy we can help you claim accident compensation for personal injury or loss sustained through no fault of your own from a variety of accidents such as road traffic accidents, accidents at work or on holiday, sports injuries and medical negligence to name a few. Please note, there are other circumstances we can help you claim for that are not listed above. Firstly, complete our claim form on the right hand side of this page. One of our professional advisers will contact you to assess the details of your accident.
2. Am I entitled to compensation?
If you have suffered personal injury or loss (including loss of earnings) through an accident that was either the fault of another party or organisation or was partially yours and partially another party’s fault, then it is likely that you will be entitled to accident compensation. Before initiating the claims process we need to check three important factors that are essential to all successful claims :
- The accident MUST have happened within the last 3 years. If under 18 when the accident occurred, the claim can be made up to 3 years after your 18th birthday.
- It is VITAL that the accident occurred due to the negligence (fault) or partial negligence of another party, be it an individual or organisation.
- The negligent party MUST have the means to pay damages. This is often done through their insurance company.
3. How much am I entitled to?
The size of your compensation depends upon a number of factors. The extent of the injuries, the loss of earnings, if any, and the costs incurred due to such things as medical care can be rolled into the amount of accident compensation you may receive.
If your personal injury was the result of a road traffic accident you can also include your insurance excess, the cost of vehicle hire and the reduction in the value of the car if it occurs, into your compensation claim.
4. Who will actually deal with my claim?
The Legal Consultancy will appoint one of our team of dedicated personal injury claims experts to your case to ensure you have the best chance of winning accident compensation.
5. How long will the claim take?
Figures vary from company to company but research has shown that the average time for a compensation claim to be settled for personal injury from a road traffic accident, for example, is 9 months. Other claims which may need more investigation due to complexities can take up to 18 months. On the flipside of this, some accident compensation claims can take as little as 6 months.
6. What will the service cost me?
The Legal Consultancy will not charge you a penny. If the accident compensation claim is successful, The Legal Consultancy will not charge you a penny. In the event that your case is lost The Legal Consultancy will not charge you a penny. You count the pounds and The Legal Consultancy won’t charge you a penny!
7. Will I have to go to court?
Approximately 90% of all personal injury claims are settled out of court so you will normally not be expected to appear in court.
